Personal Yoga Journey
What made you want to become a teacher and how did you know that you were ready to be a teacher?
My teacher Marni said I was ripe and ready. I knew yoga as my truth almost immediately. I had been searching for yoga even if unknowingly. Based in the universal prayer, "may the wicked become good, may the good obtain peace, may the peaceful be freed from bonds and may the freed set others free." The next step was to give the yoga as a teacher.  Love of self and others thru service.

What are your personal inspirations/sources behind your teachings?
The children around the world. Buddhism. Faith in a better tomorrow for everyone. (besides family/life)

Who are you currently studying?
What are focusing on in your current practice?  Building consistency in meditation. Lovin' handstand on the mat.

How do you take your yoga practice off the mat?
By being the change I would like to see in the world.  Showing up for my life with every breath that I take. Choosing non-violence, non-reactivity to challenges. By reaching for the hands of the fallen, and loving everyone in my life without fear or judgement. Outreach in developing worlds. East Africa with street kids and Nepal with ex child slaves.  By choosing every moment which wolf I feed. Having fun, laughing, dancing and sharing the experience with all of the many people I love.

What are some of your favorite yoga poses and why?
Handstand, I feel free, and strong in this pose. Ardha Chandrasana, I feel big and balanced in this pose. Warrior 2 make me feel unstoppable. And childs pose, because it makes me feel safe and humble.

What advice would you give a new student?
No such thing as yoga "perfect" practice, have fun, be open, love yourself, cause you are worth it and its in the surrender that yoga "happens" what advice would you give your students just beginning yoga?  No one but you is watching you on your mat! Have fun, ask questions, do your best, believe in yourself.  Breath in and breath out, and let go.

What advice would you give the more seasoned person practicing yoga?
Same, remember to show up for each pose like its the first time you have ever done it. Continue to be amazed, and inspired and grateful.

Little known facts about me:  I have six kids, and a beautiful husband. I travel quite a bit doing photography and outreach in developing worlds. I love to dance and sing and hike.... Hmmm. I am a scorpio and a vata....

I knew I loved yoga when:  I showed up in my very first class, and Marni said welcome home... I knew i was home. Feeling like I belonged somewhere, even if only in my own skin.... Yoga love at first breath.. Haha.

Where yoga helps me the most: Reminds me that its' all connected.

Why I love this studio: Beautifully unique instructors that believe in yoga and love it.
