Teachers

JessicaUpDog.jpgJESSICA JEROME
Jessica was drawn to the mat for its therapeutic potential and as a compliment to dance training, and she continues to be amazed by the deep inner wisdom this practice brings forth. Her breath centered, alignment focused classes aim to cultivate stillness and mental clarity while dissolving energetic and physical blockages that inhibit radiant health. Her yoga journey has been blessed by so many wonderful teachers from California to New York, Colorado to Cleveland. She is an OM yoga teacher certified at the 200 level, currently working on her 500 hour certification.

Personal Yoga Journey
When did you start practicing yoga?

My first experience with Hatha yoga was in 1994, but my dedicated studies began in 2002.

What made you want to become a teacher and how did you know that you were ready to be a teacher?
After hearing “Are you a yoga teacher?” more times than I could count, I questioned, “Why aren’t I?” It was a natural progression for me, to deepen my own practice and share the joy of it with others.

What are your personal inspirations/sources behind your teachings?
(Besides family/life) The natural world and cosmic cycles which translate as our inner environment.

Who are you currently studying? What are you focusing on in your current practice?
My current focus is on the practice of tuning in...what do I truly need, within my habitual moments?

Advice to Students
What advice would you give your students just beginning yoga?
“Oh snail, climb Mt. Fuji, but slowly, slowly.”  ~Issa….and, have fun!

What advice would you give the more seasoned person practicing yoga?

Continue to practice as a beginner….every time you step on the mat, keep your heart fresh with pure possibility and sense of wonder.
